Camp WeHaKee has new Directors. Stacie Simpson and Cory Harrison took over in 2026, and if you've spent any time with either of them, you already understand why this place is in good hands.
Between them, they bring decades of real camp experience. Not just administrative experience. The kind that comes from actually being at camp, knowing what it takes to run a session well, and caring enough about the outcome to get the small things right. They led a co-ed camp together for ten years before coming to WeHaKee. As a married couple who've raised their own family, they know how to build a camp community that feels like a supportive family.
Who is Stacie Simpson?
Stacie grew up in central Wisconsin and has spent her career in camp. She has a degree in Youth Programming and Camp Management and has worked across the Girl Scouts, YMCA, and private camp sectors. Her focus at WeHaKee is belonging: making sure every girl who shows up at Hunter Lake feels like she was supposed to be there. That's harder to do consistently than it sounds, and Stacie is genuinely good at it.
Who is Cory Harrison?
Cory has spent more than two decades in year-round camp leadership. Most recently he served as VP of Overnight Camping at YMCA Camp Greenville, one of the country's largest residential camps. His background is operational: staff development, program design, the infrastructure that makes a good summer actually possible. He has a clear sense of what camp is for and why it matters, which shapes every decision he makes about how WeHaKee operates.
What does this mean for families?
If you have a question about enrollment, want to talk through whether WeHaKee is the right fit for your daughter, or just want to get a feel for who's running the place before you commit, you can actually talk to them. Schedule a video chat or email the team at info@wehakeecampforgirls.com.
