About Stacie

Stacie Simpson grew up in central Wisconsin and has spent her career in camp. She holds a degree in Youth Programming and Camp Management and has worked across the Girl Scouts, YMCA, and private camp sectors. For the past ten years, she and Cory led a co-ed camp together before coming to WeHaKee in 2026.

Her focus at WeHaKee is belonging. She wants every girl who shows up on Opening Day to feel, by day three, that she was supposed to be here. That sense of fit, of being known in a specific place by specific people, is what WeHaKee has always been good at. Stacie is committed to protecting it.

Vision for Camp WeHaKee

Girls spend so much energy on social survival that some of them have genuinely forgotten how to just go. To walk, climb, jump, let the water run over their feet. Two weeks at camp gives a girl time to shed that armor. New place, new people, everyone there because they actually want to be. Counselors who are role models for curiosity instead of caution. We want every girl who comes to WeHaKee to leave standing a little taller than when she arrived. Not because we told her she was great, but because she figured something out on her own.
