At Camp WeHaKee, we want every camper to show up as herself. No uniform, no rules about self-expression. What we do ask is that everyone who packs for a session on Hunter Lake does it with the whole community in mind, not just themselves.
The Core Principle
Camp WeHaKee is built on belonging. So when it comes to clothing and personal items, we ask one question: does this contribute to a culture where everyone feels welcome? If yes, great, pack it. If no, leave it home.
Clothing Must Be Free Of:
The camp administration reserves the right to restrict items that conflict with WeHaKee's values. When in doubt, ask. Otherwise, be you.
Practical Clothing Requirements
All clothing needs to allow safe and comfortable participation in any camp activity. That means active, outdoor-appropriate clothing with full coverage of private areas and minimal need for adjustment mid-activity.
Swimwear must be athletic style with no string fasteners, functional for an active waterfront on Hunter Lake. Campers are swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, and tubing, not lounging poolside.
Items Not Permitted at Camp
These items will be confiscated upon discovery:
On electronics: iPods are permitted on buses and on a limited basis at camp. Cell phones, tablets, and gaming devices are not permitted at any point during a session. Camp works because it's a break from screens, not an extension of them.
Items That Result in Immediate Removal from Camp
Possession of any of the following will result in a camper being sent home, with no refund:
This policy protects every camper at camp. It is non-negotiable and applied consistently.
Questions Before You Pack?
Email us at info@wehakeecampforgirls.com before your daughter's session. Easier to sort out at home than at check-in on Opening Day.
